The Ministry of Health on Friday reported no new cases of COVID-19 in the community and just one in managed isolation.

A healthcare worker has been assessed as a casual contact after they assisted in transferring a patient from the Jet Park quarantine facility to hospital on Thursday.

An investigation into the transfer found PPE use did not "fully meet" protocols.

"While the risk has been assessed as low, as a precautionary measure the health worker has now been classified as a casual contact and has been asked to monitor symptoms. They will be automatically tested in seven days' time."

One additional historical case was reported, and five previous cases have recovered, leaving the number of active cases at 25.

The MIQ case travelled from an undisclosed location via the United Arab Emirates, arriving in Auckland on August 4.

Two of the 25 active cases are in hospital, and the previously reported UN worker from Fiji is still in intensive care.
