There are no new cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand's community and eight in managed isolation.

There is also one new historical case, and two people have recovered, bringing New Zealand's active cases to 43.

New Zealand has now gone 165 days without a case in its community.

One extra person was tested for COVID-19 after it was discovered they boarded the Rio De La Plata in Tauranga. They have tested negative.

All Port of Tauranga workers who were associated with the container ship have returned at least one negative test.

Some additional tests were required from some workers, most of which were negative - three are pending results.

One of these includes a person who worked for longer than previously thought - this person is being tested again as a precaution.

Meanwhile aboard the Mattina - a ship currently in quarantine in Bluff - crew members continue to recover from COVID-19 infection. Thirteen of the 21 crew remain onboard.

Of the cases in managed isolation, two arrived from Japan, four from Malaysia, one from India and one from the UK.

Since  January 1 2021, there have been 117 historical cases, out of a total of 739 cases.

The seven-day rolling average of new cases detected at the border is five.

New Zealand's total number of confirmed cases is 2557.
