A moving truck has toppled backwards down an embankment on a quiet street in the Wellington suburb of Ngaio.
In incredible images from the scene, the cab of the NZ Van Lines truck can be seen suspended several metres above ground level, with its back door nestled in a creek below.
Police are currently at the scene at the intersection of Fox St and Awarua St after being called there at about 9:10am on Tuesday morning.
"A lorry is reported to be down an embankment and in a creek next to the intersection," a spokesperson told Newshub.
"There are no reports of injuries, but indications that part of the road might be blocked. Currently working to see if truck can be towed out."
It's understood the truck's engine was still running more than an hour after the incident.
It's not yet known how the incident happened nor how the driver safely got out of the cab.
NZ Van Lines confirmed to Newshub it knows about the incident, and its branch manager is at the scene.
