A crash south of Whanganui has killed two people.
Emergency services were alerted to a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 3 at Kaitoke about 5:30pm on Thursday.
Two people were dead at the scene and a third person has been flown to hospital in a critical condition.
The road has since reopened and police say the crash will be investigated.
