A man has been been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Nelson.
About 1pm Friday police were called to a Waimea Rd address, police said in a statement.
A 47-year-old man was taken to Nelson Hospital with serious injuries and is now in a stable condition after surgery.
A 40-year-old man, known to the victim, was taken into custody at the scene.
He will appear in Nelson District Court on Saturday.
