Child in critical condition after being hit by vehicle

A child is in a critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Auckland.

According to police, at about 2:20pm on Tuesday, the youngster was hit by a vehicle on Elizabeth St in the suburb of Papakura.

The child has now been taken to hospital in a critical condition

The road is closed and the Serious Crash Unit is attending.
