Two men caught on camera viciously beating man on side of Auckland motorway

Two men have been caught on camera viciously beating a man in the middle of Auckland's Northwestern Motorway.

The violent video shows two men aggressively kicking and punching a man in the head in a road rage incident as someone in the background pleads for them to stop.

"Police were called to a report of an assault on the Northwestern Motorway at 4.30pm on Monday," Police told Newshub in a statement.

"Police are making follow-up enquiries with the victim and there have been no arrests at this stage."

The video, which was published on Reddit, lasts 25 seconds and was captured by a member of the public who was driving by the incident on Monday.

The video starts by showing two men aggressively punching another man - who is lying helplessly on the ground - in the head, neck and stomach area in the median strip of the Northwestern Motorway.

One of the men who was assaulting the man on the ground walks off while the other starts viciously kicking the guy on the ground to the neck and head area.

The man that has been assaulted can be seen lying on the ground in distress before the camera moves to a group of five people arguing and swearing.

It is not known what has caused the incident to occur.
