Part of a main road is closed in Wellington after a gas leak.
Police are assisting Fire and Emergency NZ after a gas main was struck at a construction site on The Terrace on Tuesday morning just before 10am.
FENZ said the leak was on the southern end of The Terrace between Ghuznee St and Buller St, with the main road closed in between the two streets.
There are two fire appliances at the scene, with police putting up cordons and having staff located on the corner of The Terrance and Ghuznee St.
