A man has died in a house fire in the Auckland suburb of Panmure on Friday night.
Police confirmed to Newshub the fire occurred at just after 10:50pm on Benghazi Road.
"Sadly, a man has died in the fire. Police have a scene guard in place at the address, and fire investigators will be attending later today [Saturday]," a police spokesperson told Newshub on Saturday.
St John also confirmed to Newshub they received a call about the fire in Panmure and sent an ambulance in response to the incident.
Police said the incident has been referred to the Coroner.
