Police are searching for a prisoner who was let out to attend a funeral but never returned.
Michael Tautari, 24, was granted absence to attend a funeral in Kawakawa, Northland. Police said Tautari's last known location was Raumanga area, but he has connections in Auckland.
Tautari is about 165cm tall, of medium-small build and is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
Police say they are doing everything they can to locate him.
