Police have arrested two people following the death of 22 year-old man Lake Takimoana, who was shot in Nelson on Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, Police say a 24-year-old man has been charged with being party to murder.
The man is due to appear in Nelson District Court on Monday.
Detective Inspector Mark Chenery said another man had been arrested and charged with being party to aggravated burglary.
Chenery said Police would continue to investigate Takimoana's death to find those responsible.
He encouraged anyone with information about the incident to contact Police.
Police said they would specifically like to hear from anyone who has any information regarding a vehicle of interest, which has a distinctive flat deck.
