Auckland Lotto player wakes up $8.5 million richer

An Auckland Lotto player is waking up $8.5 million richer on Sunday morning after winning Powerball First Division on Saturday. 

The winning ticket was sold on the MyLotto app to a player from Auckland - with the prize made up of $8 million from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.  

Saturday’s winner is the fourth Kiwi to win big with Powerball in 2022 and comes less than two weeks after an Auckland grandmother won $28.16 million.

A Canterbury Lotto player will also be waking up richer on Sunday after winning $500,000 with Lotto First Division in Saturday’s draw.  

Meanwhile, one lucky Strike player from Marlborough will also be celebrating after winning $500,000 with Strike Four - with the winning ticket sold at New World Blenheim. 

Anyone who bought their ticket at any of the above stores should check their ticket as soon as possible in-store, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ App.
