Watch: The Hui - Monday, April 11

This livestream has finished. Watch this episode here or in the embedded link below.

Tonight on The Hui, bowel cancer causes more than 1200 deaths a year in Aotearoa and is the second-most common cancer in wāhine Māori and third highest killer in Māori males.

The National Screening Unit has been rolling out free home testing kits for whānau in the hope that early detection of cancer in the bowel will save lives.

Whānau who have been affected by this preventable disease talk about their experiences and how home testing relieves some of the barriers for Māori.

Then, a panel discusses what co-governance is and how we can have a conversation about it.

And later, The Hui meets the author who has created a beautiful book compiling the history of the people of Ngāi Tahu.

Made with support from Te Māngai Pāho and the Public Interest Journalism Fund.
