Police are searching for an 18-year-old in relation to their investigation into a shooting in Auckland last month that left seven people injured.

A warrant is out for the arrest of Ronnie Sefo, also known as Phillip Mahe, for his alleged involvement in an aggravated burglary in the Auckland suburb of Mt Roskill on December 20, 2021.

But Detective Senior Sergeant Geoff Baber, the Auckland City West investigations manager, says police are also wanting to find him as it's understood "he may be able to assist with our ongoing enquires into the shooting incident in Sandringham last month".

Seven people were injuried, with five hospitalised, after a shooting at a Sandringham Rd carpark in March. Four people have been arrested as part of the investigation. During a search at a Mt Roskill address, officers found an AR-15 assault rifle as well as a shotgun and ammunition.

One of those arrested by police was charged with inciting an action that lead to the shooting. That same 20-year-old was also charged in relation to an incident involving a firearm on December 20, 2021.

Det Snr Sgt Baber said Sefo is known to have ties across Auckland and frequents east Auckland suburbs.

"Anyone who sights him should call Police on 111.

"Additionally, anyone who has further information on his whereabouts should contact Police on 105, quoting Operation GRIZZLY."
