Two helicopters and several ground crews are fighting a large fire south of Dunedin.
Emergency services were called to the fire near Henley around 4.30am this morning.
Fire and Emergency said the fire is approximately three hectares in size and it is in a gully which is making access difficult.
Light rain is falling in the region and a spokesperson earlier said the fire was not threatening any property but that could change if the wind picked up or changed direction.
Members of the public are asked to stay away from the area and some roads are closed in the Henley-Berwick area.
