A person has escaped serious injuries after being stabbed in central Christchurch.
Emergency services were called to the corner of Bealey Ave and Madras St at about 10:30pm, a police spokeswoman told Newshub.
"The offenders stole a cellphone from the victim," she said. "The victim was assessed and treated by ambulance at the scene and there is no indication there were serious injuries."
Police said the offenders have yet to be located and an investigation was ongoing.
