Police charge 15-year-old following stabbing incident that put Tawa College in lockdown

Wellington police have charged a 15-year-old boy with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm following a stabbing incident that threw Tawa College into lockdown on Tuesday afternoon. 

A police spokesperson reassured the community that the incident was isolated. 

"Police understand that it was unsettling for those involved and can reassure the community that this was an isolated incident." 

Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident. 

The 15-year-old appeared in the Porirua Youth Court on Wednesday morning and has been remanded without a plea.

The boy will reappear next week.

One person was hospitalised after the incident.
