An Auckland liquor store owner has been left picking up the pieces, following a smash-and-grab style break-in.

Police were called to The Bottle O in Three Kings just before 3am on Friday.

The owner told Newshub four offenders smashed their way into the store, and took off with a large amount of alcohol.

Police told Newshub they are investigating the burglary.

"Around 3am, offenders have forced entry to a business on Duke Street, Three Kings.

"The group have taken a number of items before fleeing from the scene in multiple vehicles.

"Our enquiries are ongoing into the burglary."

Police urged anyone with information to contact them on 105 quoting job number P050937745.

Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

It's the latest in a spate of smash-and-grab burglaries plaguing the city.

On Monday Smith and Caughey's Queen Street store was hit by thieves as well as another retail store on Sabulite Road.

On the same day, a business owner told Newshub she was closing her store after being ram-raided twice in two months.
