Beach Haven residents have posted on social media saying they suspect the shooting was carried out as part of the ongoing gang war between the Killer Beez and Tribesmen.

Police are currently conducting enquires to establish the circumstances of what has occurred. They encourage anyone with any information to contact Police on 105, quoting event number P050800832.

The shooting comes after a spate of firearm incidents in Auckland in recent weeks, much of which has been gang-related.

On Friday afternoon a 40-year-old man was left fighting for his life after a shooting at a restaurant in Papakura, south Auckland.
