A person is in a critical condition after a serious crash near where Sunday's horror collision in the Marlborough region occurred.
Police said emergency services are responding to a serious crash on State Highway 63 at the intersection with Waihopai Valley Road, west of Renwick.
In a statement, police said the two-car crash occurred shortly before 7am and left one person in a critical condition.
A helicopter has been dispatched to the scene and the road is closed with diversions put in place, police said.
The crash comes after seven people died in a head-on collision between a van and a refrigerated goods truck on Sunday morning.
Just a day later, one person was killed in a crash near the same spot as Sunday's horror collision.
