Police have identified a potential suspect relating to the death of Onehunga woman Maria Brown.
Brown, 77, was found dead at a house in Onehunga at around 10 am on Sunday, June 5.
"Police can confirm a person of interest has been identified and that this person is not at large in the community," said Detective Inspector Scott Beard.
"For legal reasons Police are constrained in further comment around this person of interest, or their current location."
Det Insp Beard said they do not think the person of interest will harm other members of the community.
The investigation into Brown's death is ongoing and police are not looking for anyone else in relation to her death.
