A possible water spout has been spotted in Taranaki.
Newshub has been sent footage of what appears to be a large water spout off the coast.
Jordan Connor, a roofer from Taranaki who filmed it at roughly 11am on Friday, said it was about 2km south of Ōpunake, but never came onto land.
According to Metservice, Taranaki is current experiencing showers with the possibility of thunderstorms in northern parts.
