Police have arrested three men and seized a firearm during an operation targeting gang violence in south Auckland on Sunday.

Police carried out a pre-planned search warrant in Clarkson Crescent, Otara, this afternoon with the assistance of the armed offenders squad.

Police say the three men arrested - aged 35, 36, and 37 - are affiliated to the Tribesmen gang. They have been charged with firearms offences and are due to appear in Manukau District Court on Tuesday.

The operation was part of Operation Dairyland, the investigation into the firearms incidents and suspicious fires across Auckland since late May.

Multiple houses have been shot at amid a tit-for-tat gang war between Tribesmen and its former feeder gang, the Killer Beez. Police say they now have an "escalated focus" on unlawful activity by gangs.

Anyone with information about those illegally in possession of firearms is urged to contact police on 105 or anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
