Two houses in Auckland have been shot up overnight.

One incident happened at about 2am on Tate St, where a gun was shot into a house.

Scene guards remained outside the property on Saturday morning, and an investigation was underway.

In an earlier incident, police said shots were also fired into a house on Avondale's Ruahine St at about 12:50am.

No one was injured in either incident, police said.

On Friday night, officers responded to reports of two men presenting a gun at a person in the Auckland suburb of Avondale. However, police said it did not appear the incidents were linked.
