Two men have been charged with arson after the Rainbow Youth drop-in centre in Tauranga was burnt down.

A 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old man have been arrested in relation to the fire at Tauranga's Historic Village last month.

The two men, who police say are local to Tauranga, are due to appear in the Tauranga District Court on Thursday.

A spokesperson said they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident, however, enquiries remain ongoing.

Police were called to the drop-in centre, which is shared by both Rainbow Youth and Gender Dynamix, at 12:45pm on June 16 after reports of a fire.

A Givealittle page was launched to help support Rainbow Youth following the fire, which has raised more than $82,000 so far.
