Where the cheapest fuel is around the country: Kiwis flock to Auckland petrol station as 91 available for just $2.77

People are flocking to a west Auckland gas station after a photo posted online showed fuel available for just $2.77 a litre. 

Gull in Henderson Valley was packed with cars on Tuesday as Kiwis rushed to the petrol station in the hopes of getting cheap fuel. 

A photo posted to a local community Facebook page shows cars filling the forecourt. According to Gaspy, 91 is available at the petrol station for just $2.77, while diesel is $2.62 and 98 is $3.05 a litre. 

It's the cheapest fuel in Auckland by a country mile with the next cheapest options all sitting above $3 a litre. 

Costco Westgate and Gull Speedlane Wiri have 91 for $3.01 while NPD Otara and NPD Wiri have 91 for $3.05. 

The most expensive 91 petrol in the city is a whopping $3.31 a litre at GAS Kaurilands in Titirangi. 

Meanwhile, the cheapest petrol in Hamilton is $2.91 a litre for 91 at Pak'nSave Mill Street and KLD St Andrews followed by $2.93 a litre at Gull Tramway and Melville, according to Gaspy. 

The most expensive petrol in the city is $3.26 for 91 at Wills Automotive. 

In Rotorua the cheapest petrol is $3.05 a litre for 91 at Gull Edmund Road followed by $3.07 a at Pak'nSave Rotorua, Gull Lakes Road and New World Westend. The most expensive fuel is $3.17 a litre for 91 at several locations.

For Tauranga residents, the cheapest 91 petrol is $3.02 a litre at Gull Speedland Hewletts. The next cheapest is Waitomo Hewletts, Pak'nSave Papamoa and Gull Te Puke at $3.03 a litre for 91, followed by $3.04 per litre for 91 at several locations. The most expensive petrol in the city can be found at Challenge Omokoroa for 91. 

In the capital the cheapest petrol is $2.96 a litre for 91 at NPD Porirua and Pak'nSave Porirua Fuel. The next cheapest is $3.06 per litre for 91 which can be found at several stations including Pak'nSave Petone, Gull Waione, New World Hutt City and Pak'nSave Hutt City. 

The most expensive petrol in the city is $3.25 a litre for 91 which can be found at several locations. 

Down south, the cheapest 91 petrol in Christchurch is $2.82 a litre at NPD self service Stanmore Road and Gull Stanmore Road. The next cheapest petrol is $2.83 at NPD self-serve Ferry Road and Gull Woolston.

The most expensive petrol in the garden city is $3.10 a litre for 91 at Mobil Sydenham.

In Dunedin the cheapest petrol is $2.95 a litre for 91 at NPD self-serve Andy Bay, Caltex City North, Waitomo Eastgate and McKeown Dunedin. The next cheapest is $2.97 at NPD Andy Bay at $2.97 a litre for 91. The most expensive is $3.10 a litre for 91 at BP 2go Mornington.
