Three youths have been arrested after a spree of overnight ram-raids left multiple Christchurch businesses in clean-up mode.

Shops in Lincoln, Prebbleton, Halswell, Bryndwr and Papanui were affected.

Vape products appear to have been taken from a dairy on Bryndwr's Clyde Rd, where a stolen car was towed away from on Friday morning. Images from the scene show the front door of the dairy completely smashed in.

"This offending has left a trail of destruction and I understand many shop owners will be understandably upset and angry this morning," Christchurch Metro Commander Supt Lane Todd said.

"Thankfully, staff have acted quickly and have taken three offenders into custody and put a stop to any further offending.

"Youth offending is an issue that is wider than police and we will continue to work with partner agencies and the community to find solutions."

Police said the three youths are facing multiple charges inlcuding aggravated burglary, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and failing to stop for police.

The trio would appear in the Christchurch Youth Court, police said.
