Two people have been injured after an alleged stabbing near Christchurch on Thursday night.
Police said in a statement they received a report of an assault at a residence on St Davids St in Lyttelton at 7:45pm.
Emergency services attended and one person was arrested.
"Two people are being treated, one of them for serious injuries, one of them for moderate injuries," police said.
The people involved in the incident were known to each other, according to police.
