A 36-year-old woman has been charged with murder after another woman was found dead in south Auckland overnight.
On Saturday morning at around 4:30am police were called to an address in Lakewood Court in Counties Manukau.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said: "on arrival, a woman was located deceased at the scene."
The 36-year-old was found at the address and taken into custody.
"That woman has been charged with murder and will appear in Manukau District Court on Monday 5 September," a police spokesperson said.
Police want anyone who was in the Lakewood Court area overnight who may have heard or seen something to get in contact.
