A car has come dangerously close to train tracks after a multi-vehicle crash in Wellington.
A police spokesperson said multiple cars were involved in a collision at around 3pm near Pito-one Road.
One car just halted before landing on the rail lines.
Emergency services are on site and trains have been halted while the situation is assessed, police said.
The crash has blocked the left southbound lane on SH2 Horokiwi and tow truck operators have been called to clear the road.
No serious injuries have been reported.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area or expect travel delays.
