Foodstuffs recalls Pams brand sprouts after possible Salmonella detection

Foodstuffs has recalled the Pams brand of Alfalfa Sprouts, Salad Sprouts, Sandwich Selection Sprouts and Spicy Sprouts Combo following the possible detection of Salmonella.

New Zealand Food Safety deputy director general Vincent Arbuckle said Salmonella poisoning is serious -  especially for the very young, the elderly, the pregnant and those with compromised immune systems.

"If you think you have been exposed to Salmonella or have any concerns for your health please contact your health professional or call Health Line: 0800 611 116."

Arbuckle said the affected product should not be consumed and can be returned to where people purchased them for a refund.

"Recalled products are being removed from shelves at New World, PAK'nSAVE and Four Square stores throughout the North Island."

The following products marked with the use-by date of November 4, 2022, are included in the recall.

  • Pams Alfafa Sprouts
  • Pams Salad Sprouts
  • Pams Sandwich Sprouts
  • Pams Spicy Sprouts Combo

The products all come in 100g punnets.
