The woman being held in South Korea in connection to the discovery of children's remains found in suitcases in Auckland will "soon" make an appearance in court.
In a minute sent to media about suppression matters, Coroner Tania Tetihaha said she had been informed "the defendant may soon make an appearance in the court".
South Korea's Ministry of Justice plans to return the 42-year-old New Zealand woman of Korean descent to New Zealand within 30 days, after the Seoul High Court approved the extradition on Friday.
"Having thoroughly reviewed the [extradition] request and a large pool of supporting evidence, the Minister of Justice, Han Dong Hoon, ordered the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office to file a Request for extradition trial on October 27 and the court proceedings subsequently took place at the Seoul High Court," it said in a statement.
The statement said the ministry would discuss the detailed schedule with the New Zealand authority.
It said evidence confiscated during the inquiry in South Korea would also be sent to New Zealand.
New Zealand police said they could not comment further on the extradition process.
Details about the family and the police investigation are suppressed.
Coroner Tetihaha said she intended to review suppression orders made in the adjourned coronial inquiry after the defendant's appearance in the Manukau District Court.
The woman was arrested in Ulsan in September.
The bodies of the children, who were aged under 10, were found in August, after a family bought the contents of an Auckland storage unit online.
