Police are searching for a man missing in the water off the coast of rural western Waikato.
A police spokesperson confirmed in a statement that three men had been fishing in the area when one slipped on the rocks and fell into the water.
Officers were called to the Pukerewa Road area at around 3:30pm on Thursday.
The spokesperson added a helicopter was dispatched but was later replaced by a fixed-wing aircraft to conduct aerial searches of the area.
"One man was treated for injuries at the scene and another remains outstanding," police said.
The search for the man remains ongoing.
