A Kiwi man has gone viral on social media for hilariously standing near a huge puddle and inviting passing drivers to drench him in water.

Duncan Kukard, from Little Manly on Auckland's Whangaparāoa Peninsula, is seen standing in just his togs on the edge of the curb, gesturing at drivers to splash him as they go past.

Kukard uploaded the video to Instagram, but didn't expect it to go viral. As of publishing, the video has been viewed over 18 million times and has received 890,000 likes.

Kukard told Stuff some motorists gave him strange looks as they drove by, but others took their chance and sprayed him with puddle water.

"It was just in the spirit of trying out crazy things. We had just been swimming for hours in a thunderstorm, anyway," he told the outlet.

He's even received messages from international news media asking for permission to use his video in stories.

"There is nothing like footage of your pale luminous skin being splashed around the world."

People commented on his Instagram video and found the video hilarious.

"This is the best thing I have seen in a while," one person said.

"Living their best lives absolutely love it," another person commented.

Another joked about how the giant puddle was due to Auckland's seemingly never-ending rainy days.

"Oh boy, we have had so much rain in Auckland this year," they said.
