A person has died and another six were injured in a crash in south Auckland on Wednesday night.
A police statement said the crash between a car and light truck, at the intersection of Papakura's Ingram St and Porchester Rd, happened just after 10:40pm.
"Sadly one person has died as a result and six others sustained injuries," the statement said.
Police said four people were in conditions ranging from serious to moderate while two other had minor injuries.
The injured people were taken to Middlemore and Auckland City Hospitals, police said.
An investigation into the crash was underway and the serious crash unit has examined the scene overnight.
