An infant has died after falling into a septic tank in Whanganui on Thursday.
On Thursday, emergency services were called to the rural property on Watt Livingstone Road, Westmere, at 3:18pm.
Hato Hone St John told Newshub they responded with two ambulances and one helicopter.
The infant was transported to the hospital.
Police later confirmed the infant died in what appears to have been a "tragic accident".
Police are now investigating the incident.
