A man has allegedly been shot at from a utility vehicle in south Otago.
According to police, the man was driving a Ford Falcon on Lakeside Rd between Kaitangata and Milton at 11:15pm on Friday when he noticed a car, reported to be a utility vehicle, travelling closely behind him with high beams.
The man pulled over and got out of the car, at which point it is alleged he was shot at.
While the man wasn't hit, there is damage to his car.
A police statement said the man is shaken and an investigation is now underway.
"We'd like to hear from anyone who was travelling between Kaitangata and Milton between 10.30 and 11.30pm who may have seen a utility vehicle being driven in an unusual manner, or who might have dashcam footage of use.
"We would also like to speak with anyone who witnessed this incident or any of the circumstances surrounding it.
