Man arrested for sexual assault in Auckland's Tōtara Park

A 27-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was sexually assaulted in Auckland's Tōtara Park on Tuesday.

The woman was sexually assaulted while at a lookout point on the Puhinui Forest Trail on Tuesday morning.

Counties Manukau CIB Detective Inspector Karen Bright said the man has been charged with unlawful sexual connection and indecent assault. 

He will appear in the Manukau District Court on Saturday.

"Police would like to thank the members of the public for their cooperation, and for coming forward with information," Bright said.
