Police are investigating after a person was found critically injured on a rural road south of Auckland.
Emergency services were called to Batty Road, Karaka, following a report of an injured person on the road at 3:15pm Thursday.
The road was closed while emergency services responded and one person was transported to hospital in a critical condition.
A police spokesperson later confirmed on Thursday the road had reopened. They thanked motorists for their patience while the road was closed.
