Police launch investigation after man critically injured in Kihikihi, Waikato

Police are launching an investigation after a man was critically injured in Kihikihi, Waikato on Thursday afternoon.

"Emergency services were called at 4:35pm after a man was found with a serious head injury on Oliver Street in Kihikihi," a police spokesperson said in a statement on Friday.

The man was taken to Waikato Hospital and is now in critical condition,

A scene examination will be carried out on Oliver Street and police will be trying to work out what lead to the man being injured.

"The investigation team would like to hear from anyone who was in the Oliver Street area around the time the man was located injured, who may have seen something which could assist our enquiries," police said.

Police also added they would like to hear from anyone who could have dashcam or CCTV footage which could be relevant.
