Thick smoke pouring into air as fire burns on Auckland's North Shore

Thick black smoke is pouring into the air as a fire burns on Auckland's North Shore.

Fire and Emergency told Newshub that at 8:55pm on Thursday, they received multiple calls about the blaze in Wairau Valley. There are currently five crews and approximately 25 firefighters at the scene.

The building that is on fire is about 100 metres by 30 metres in size, the spokesperson said. There are no injuries from the blaze at this stage.

Additionally, the Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the fire hasn't escalated since crews arrived.

A video supplied to Newshub shows thick smoke billowing from a building and rising into the air. Also in the footage, large flames can also be seen coming from the building.
