A person has been taken into custody after a woman was found dead in Dunedin overnight.
Emergency services were called to Helensburgh Rd, Waikari just before 3am, police said. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman dead.
In a statement, police said another person was taken into custody.
The victim could not be identified at this stage, the statement said.
A homicide investigation was ongoing.
