Armed police rush to Massey, Auckland after several people injured, house smashed in, gun reportedly fired

Several people have been injured after a west Auckland house was smashed in and a gun was reportedly fired from a moving vehicle. 

Police said they were called to a property on Claverdon Drive, Massey, at just before 4am after reports of an assault.

A police spokesperson said officers who attended the scene were armed as a precaution.

The spokesperson added several people were treated for minor injuries and one person was transported to hospital in a moderate condition.

"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident," the spokesperson said. 

Footage from the scene shows the upstairs windows of the house and a car outside the garage smashed in.

A witness told Newshub a gun was fired in the air from a moving vehicle.

St John told Newshub they responded with a rapid response vehicle, one manager and an ambulance to the scene. 

"We assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Waitakere ED (Emergency Department) in a moderate condition," a St John spokesperson said.
