Daughter of woman who had advanced care plans ignored launches petition for directives to be binding

When Barbie Duffy's advanced care plan wishes were ignored and she was kept alive, she took matters into her own hands.

The 78-year-old suffered a serious medical episode that left her with no mobility and limited comprehension, and died after 58 long days of declining food and, finally, water.

Barbie's daughter Louise has launched a campaign, known as Barbie's Bill, to make sure that doesn't happen to anyone else. 

Louise Duffy spoke to AM.
