Three arrested after reports of gunshots in Hawke's Bay

Three people have been arrested after reports of gunshots in Hawke's Bay on Saturday evening.

Police said they were called to Kelvin Road, Maraenui in Napier at 9:30pm after reports people heard a firearm being discharged.

Police confirmed there were no injuries but made follow-up enquiries and arrested three people.

One person was released without charge while an 18-year-old man will appear in the Napier District Court on charges relating to the incident on Monday.

A young person has also been referred to Youth Aid, police said.

"Enquiries are ongoing and Police cannot rule out further charges in relation to the matter," a police spokesperson said.
