There has been a fatal car crash in Dannevirke, the second in 24 hours.
Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on High Street, Dannevirke, that occurred about 9.30am.
One person died at the scene, police said, and the road is currently closed and diversions are in place.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
Another fatal crash occurred yesterday about 4.30pm at the intersection of SH2 and Wahipai Close in Dannevirke.
