It's that time of year again when hoaxes, pranks and practical jokes are out in full force.

Love it, or hate it, April Fools is among us and businesses around the country are getting in on the fun with fake news, product launches and every kind of ridiculous food pairing you could ask for.

Newshub has rounded up some of the jokes fooling Kiwis around the motu.

Aprils Fools saw Watercare install sparkling water to hundreds of thousands of homes, Christchurch Casino introducing indoor skydiving and rugby union star Jordie Barrett making the switch to league.

Hanmer Springs decided to overrun the town with the aroma of hot sulphur pools and New Zealand Police shared their trick on how to get out of a speeding ticket.

Bizarre, wacky and just plain disgusting foods were unveiled including a Wendy's Coriander Frosty, Coffee Club's coffee-seasoned chips with espresso dipping sauce and a PINenergy drink to make all your crypto trades instantly shoot straight to the moon.

McDonald's introduced a soft-serve sauce, KFC announced Kentucky fish and chips and Arnott's Biscuits collaborated to bring a Tim Tam Jatz.

MetService introduced a new team of pawcasters to their crew, with PetService. The service gives furry friends the reins, presenting the latest weather information across Aotearoa.

And Kaiteriteri Beach said a McDonald's was being built at the beach #beachbod, while Torpedo7 introduced their latest product innovation: The Inflatable Rock.
