Pakuranga Plaza mall, Flatbush dairy ram-raided in overnight crime spree in Auckland

An Auckland mall and dairy are the latest to be targeted by ram raiders in an overnight crime spree. 

Footage from the scene shows shattered glass scattered over the ground and doors smashed in at Pakuranga Plaza on Aylesbury Street. 

Police said the offenders ram-raided the entry to the mall at around 11:50pm on Wednesday before driving into a business to gain further entry to the shopping mall. 

AM understands the alleged thieves crashed into a jewellery store inside the shopping centre.

"Those involved have taken a number of items from the premises before fleeing on foot, abandoning the vehicle at the scene," a police spokesperson said. 

"Police are committed to locating those responsible and holding them to account and our enquiries are well underway."

A few hours later, in southeast Auckland, a Flatbush dairy was hit in what's believed to be an attempted ram raid.

Police said they're making enquires into the burglary at 3:26am on Thursday morning. 

"Upon arrival, despite some damage, no entry was gained into the premises, the spokesperson said.

"Enquiries are ongoing to locate the vehicle believed to be involved."

Police urge anyone with footage of either ram raid to contact them.
