Man critically injured after stabbing in Auckland's Māngere East

A man is critically injured after he was stabbed in Auckland early on Saturday morning.

Police said emergency services were called to Moffatt Pl in Māngere East at about 5am.

One person was taken to Middlemore Hospital with critical injuries, a St John statement said

Police said officers were speaking with a man in relation to the stabbing.

Charges have yet to be laid.

"There is no ongoing risk to the community," a police spokesman said, adding officers remained in the area conducting investigations.
