Man arrested after setting house on fire, fleeing police with knife in Auckland

A man has been arrested in Auckland after allegedly setting his house on fire before fleeing the scene with a knife.

Police were called to the house fire on Clendon Avenue in the suburb of Papatoetoe at 4:50am on Friday.

The man fled through nearby properties before arming himself with a knife. Police asked him to drop the knife multiple times before tasering him and arresting him.
